Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Hitch It?

Hitch It is a transportation service created for riders who need dependable, scheduled rides for everyday needs such as work, appointments, errands, shopping, school, and recurring commitments. Our goal is to provide safe, reliable, and respectful transportation without the stress of last-minute ride hunting.

2. What are your local service areas?

Hitch It Rideshare LLC's local service areas include Tatum, Carthage, Beckville, Gary, Fairplay and Clayton.

3. What other areas does Hitch It serve?

Hitch It serves riders within our approved service area and mileage ranges as well as long distance rides (May incur a service fee of $25-$75 depending on the area). Ride availability may depend on your pickup location, destination, time requested, and driver availability. Service areas may expand as Hitch It grows.

4. How do I book a ride with Hitch It?

Rides can be booked through Hitch It’s approved booking method, such as our website, phone, text, or scheduling system. Riders should provide the pickup address, destination, requested pickup time, number of passengers, and any special instructions when booking.

5. Does Hitch It offer monthly ride subscriptions?

Yes. Hitch It offers monthly subscription options for riders who need multiple rides weekly or monthly. These plans are ideal for people who need dependable transportation for work, appointments, errands, shopping, school, or other recurring needs.

6. What are Founder Subscription Rates?

Founder Subscription Rates are discounted monthly ride plans offered before Hitch It officially launches on May 15, 2026. These rates are available for a limited time and for a limited number of riders. Once the founder spots are gone, standard pricing will apply.

7. Why should I choose a subscription instead of paying per ride?

A subscription helps riders save money, plan ahead, and secure more dependable transportation. Instead of booking every ride one at a time, subscription riders can reserve multiple rides in advance and receive discounted pricing based on their selected plan.

8. Do unused subscription rides roll over?

Unless Hitch It approves otherwise in writing, unused rides do not automatically roll over to the next month. Subscription plans are designed for riders who know they need regular transportation during each billing cycle.

9. Can I cancel or reschedule a ride?

Yes. Riders may cancel or reschedule a ride, but cancellation rules apply. Cancellations made at least 24 hours before pickup may be canceled without penalty. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a fee or may count as a used ride for subscription riders.

10. What happens if I am late for my ride?

Drivers may wait up to 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. After that, wait-time fees may apply, or the ride may be marked as a no-show. To keep service reliable for all riders, we ask that riders be ready at the scheduled pickup time.

11. Does Hitch It allow smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drugs in the vehicle?

No. Hitch It vehicles are smoke-free and drug-free. Smoking, vaping, marijuana use, illegal drugs, open alcohol containers, and drug paraphernalia are not allowed inside the vehicle. Violations may result in ride cancellation, cleaning fees, suspension, or permanent removal from service.

12. Will Hitch It transport intoxicated riders?

Hitch It may transport riders who have consumed alcohol only if they are calm, respectful, conscious, and able to safely enter, ride in, and exit the vehicle. Hitch It may refuse or end a ride if a rider is aggressive, extremely intoxicated, unable to sit upright, likely to damage the vehicle, or unsafe to transport.

13. Are Hitch It vehicles monitored by cameras?

Yes. For rider safety, driver safety, vehicle protection, and incident review, Hitch It vehicles may use interior and exterior video surveillance. By entering and riding in a Hitch It vehicle, riders acknowledge that recording may occur. Recordings are not sold and may be reviewed only for safety, quality, insurance, legal, or dispute-related reasons.

14. Are children allowed to ride with Hitch It?

Children may ride with Hitch It when accompanied by a parent, guardian, or approved adult. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing any legally required car seats, booster seats, or child safety restraints unless Hitch It has agreed otherwise in writing.

15. Can Hitch It refuse or cancel a ride?

Yes. Hitch It may refuse, cancel, or end a ride early if there is unsafe behavior, intoxication that creates risk, abusive language, threats, smoking, vaping, drug use, unpaid balances, false booking information, vehicle damage, or any conduct that puts the driver, rider, vehicle, or public at risk. Safety comes first every time.

16. Why do you have some rates priced at $30+?
Gas prices are currently $3.69 per gallon and all prices are based on our XL/SUV options which holds 5-6 passengers with entertainment and wifi included.
