Welcome to Hitch It. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of Hitch It’s transportation services, website, booking tools, subscription plans, communications, and related services.
By booking a ride, purchasing a subscription, using our website, communicating with Hitch It, or entering a Hitch It vehicle, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
If you do not agree, do not book or use Hitch It services.
1. About Hitch It
Hitch It provides scheduled transportation services for riders who need reliable transportation for work, errands, appointments, school, shopping, recurring commitments, and other personal transportation needs.
Hitch It is not an emergency medical transportation provider, ambulance service, medical care provider, law enforcement service, or public transit authority. Riders should call 911 for medical emergencies, safety emergencies, or urgent life-threatening situations.
2. Eligibility to Use Services
To use Hitch It services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old, or have a parent/guardian book on your behalf.

  • Provide accurate contact, pickup, destination, and payment information.

  • Follow all Hitch It policies, safety instructions, and applicable laws.

  • Be physically and mentally able to safely enter, ride in, and exit the vehicle, unless proper assistance has been arranged in advance.

Hitch It may refuse or discontinue service if a rider cannot be safely transported.
3. Booking a Ride
Rides may be booked through Hitch It’s approved booking methods, including the website, phone, text, app, or other scheduling system.
When booking, riders must provide accurate information, including:

  • Pickup location

  • Destination

  • Requested pickup time

  • Number of passengers

  • Contact information

  • Special instructions

  • Mobility assistance needs, if any

  • Luggage, pets, service animals, or additional stop requests

Hitch It is not responsible for delays, missed rides, or additional charges caused by inaccurate or incomplete booking information.
4. Ride Availability
Ride availability is not guaranteed until Hitch It confirms the booking.
Hitch It may decline, reschedule, or cancel a ride due to:

  • Driver or vehicle availability

  • Weather

  • Unsafe road conditions

  • Vehicle maintenance issues

  • Emergencies

  • Incorrect booking details

  • Unsafe pickup or drop-off location

  • Rider behavior or policy violations

  • Payment issues

  • Any circumstance outside Hitch It’s reasonable control

5. Pricing and Fees
Ride pricing may be based on mileage, distance range, time, service type, subscription tier, wait time, extra stops, tolls, parking, special requests, or other applicable factors.
The final amount charged may include:

  • Base ride fare

  • Mileage charges

  • Wait-time charges

  • Extra stop fees

  • Toll or parking charges

  • Cleaning fees

  • Damage fees

  • Late cancellation fees

  • No-show fees

  • Subscription charges

  • Administrative or processing fees, where applicable

Hitch It may update pricing at any time. Pricing changes will not affect already-confirmed rides unless the ride details change.
6. Founder Rates and Pre-Launch Offers
Before Hitch It’s official launch on May 15, 2026, Hitch It may offer limited Founder Rates, discounted subscription plans, promotional pricing, or early-access offers.
Founder Rates are limited, promotional, and subject to availability. Hitch It may close enrollment once all founder spots are claimed.
Unless otherwise stated in writing:

  • Founder Rates are available only before launch or until sold out.

  • Founder pricing may be limited to selected mileage tiers or ride quantities.

  • Founder Rates may not be transferred, resold, or assigned to another person.

  • Hitch It may revoke founder pricing for failed payments, policy violations, abuse of service, or misuse of the subscription plan.

7. Monthly Subscription Plans
Hitch It may offer monthly ride subscription plans for riders who need multiple rides weekly or monthly.
Subscription plans may include a specific number of rides per month within a selected mileage range. Additional rides, extra miles, additional stops, wait time, tolls, parking, and special requests may cost extra.
Unless otherwise stated in writing:

  • Subscription rides are for the subscribed rider only.

  • Subscription rides do not automatically roll over.

  • Unused rides expire at the end of the billing cycle.

  • Subscription plans are billed monthly.

  • Payment must be current before rides are provided.

  • Late cancellations and no-shows may count as used rides.

  • Hitch It may pause or cancel a subscription for failed payment or policy violations.

Subscription plans are intended to provide dependable recurring transportation, not unlimited or on-demand transportation.
8. Auto-Renewal and Subscription Billing
If a rider enrolls in a monthly subscription, the rider authorizes Hitch It or its payment processor to charge the payment method on file each billing cycle until the subscription is canceled.
Hitch It will provide subscription pricing, billing frequency, and cancellation instructions at or before enrollment.
To avoid future charges, riders must cancel before the next billing date. Cancellation does not automatically refund charges already processed unless required by law or approved by Hitch It.
9. Payment Authorization
By booking a ride or subscribing to a plan, you authorize Hitch It and its payment processor to charge your selected payment method for all applicable ride charges, subscription fees, cancellation fees, cleaning fees, damage fees, tolls, parking fees, wait-time fees, and other charges allowed under these Terms.
If payment fails, Hitch It may:

  • Cancel upcoming rides

  • Pause your subscription

  • Require prepayment

  • Refuse future service

  • Attempt to process payment again

  • Send unpaid balances to collections, where legally allowed

10. Cancellations
Because Hitch It reserves driver time and vehicle availability for each booking, cancellations must be made within the required cancellation window.
Unless otherwise stated at booking:

  • Cancellations made 24 hours or more before pickup may be canceled without penalty.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup may be charged up to 50% of the ride cost.

  • Cancellations made less than 2 hours before pickup may be charged the full ride cost.

  • Subscription rides canceled late may count as used rides.

Hitch It may waive or reduce cancellation fees at its discretion for emergencies, severe weather, or circumstances it determines are reasonable.
11. No-Show Policy
A rider is considered a no-show if they are not present and ready to ride within the allowed wait time or cannot be reached by Hitch It.
Unless otherwise stated:

  • Drivers may wait up to 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time.

  • After 10 minutes, the ride may be canceled.

  • No-shows may be charged the full ride amount.

  • Subscription no-shows may count as used rides.

Repeated no-shows may result in service suspension or cancellation of subscription privileges.
12. Wait Time
Drivers are expected to stay on schedule for all riders. Riders should be ready at the scheduled pickup time.
Wait-time charges may apply if the rider is not ready when the vehicle arrives.
Hitch It may extend wait time for medical appointments, senior riders, mobility needs, or special circumstances when arranged in advance.
13. Refunds
Refunds are reviewed case by case.
Refunds may be considered when:

  • Hitch It cancels a ride and cannot provide a reasonable alternative.

  • A rider is charged incorrectly.

  • Duplicate payment occurs.

  • A ride is not completed due to an issue caused by Hitch It.

Refunds may not be issued when:

  • The rider cancels late.

  • The rider is a no-show.

  • The rider provides incorrect information.

  • The rider violates Hitch It policies.

  • The rider is refused service for unsafe or abusive behavior.

  • The ride is delayed due to traffic, weather, road closures, or other circumstances outside Hitch It’s control.

  • The rider decides not to complete the ride after service has begun.

Approved refunds may take several business days to appear, depending on the payment provider.
14. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact Hitch It first so we can review the issue.
Improper or bad-faith chargebacks may result in:

  • Suspension of service

  • Loss of subscription privileges

  • Cancellation of founder pricing

  • Requirement to prepay future rides

  • Collection of unpaid balances where legally allowed

15. Rider Conduct
Riders must behave safely, respectfully, and lawfully.
The following conduct is prohibited:

  • Threats

  • Harassment

  • Fighting

  • Yelling or intimidation

  • Discrimination or slurs

  • Sexual misconduct

  • Damaging the vehicle

  • Distracting the driver

  • Refusing safety instructions

  • Attempting to avoid payment

  • Bringing illegal items into the vehicle

  • Creating an unsafe or hostile environment

Hitch It may refuse, cancel, or end a ride early if a rider violates this section.
No refund is owed if service is refused or ended due to unsafe, abusive, illegal, or disruptive conduct.
16. Intoxicated Riders
Hitch It may transport riders who have consumed alcohol only when the rider is calm, respectful, conscious, and able to safely enter, ride in, and exit the vehicle.
Hitch It may refuse or end service if a rider appears:

  • Extremely intoxicated

  • Unconscious or unable to sit upright

  • Aggressive or combative

  • Likely to vomit or damage the vehicle

  • Unable to provide a safe destination

  • In possession of open alcohol, illegal drugs, or drug paraphernalia

  • Unsafe to transport

If a rider becomes unsafe during a ride, the driver may end the ride at a safe public location, contact emergency services, or request assistance.

Hitch It vehicles are smoke-free and drug-free.
The following are prohibited:

  • Smoking

  • Vaping

  • Marijuana use

  • Illegal drug use

  • Open alcohol containers

  • Strong smoke or drug odors that affect the vehicle

Violations may result in immediate ride cancellation, cleaning fees, odor-removal fees, suspension, permanent removal from service, and no refund.
18. Cleaning and Damage Fees
Riders are responsible for damage, mess, odor, or contamination caused by themselves, their guests, children, pets, service animals, luggage, food, drinks, or personal items.
Cleaning and damage fees may apply for:

  • Vomit

  • Bodily fluids

  • Smoke or drug odor

  • Stains

  • Excessive trash

  • Broken vehicle parts

Hitch It may charge the payment method on file for cleaning, repair, replacement, and vehicle downtime costs.
Suggested fee schedule:

  • Minor cleaning: $25–$75

  • Major cleaning: $100–$250

  • Vomit/biohazard cleanup: $150–$300+

  • Physical damage: Actual repair cost plus downtime

19. Seat Belts and Safety
All riders must wear seat belts while the vehicle is moving.
Riders may not:

  • Open doors while the vehicle is moving.

  • Lean out of windows.

  • Interfere with vehicle controls.

  • Distract the driver.

  • Ask the driver to speed or violate traffic laws.

  • Create any unsafe condition.

Hitch It may refuse or stop a ride if a rider refuses to follow safety rules.
20. Children and Minors
Children must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or approved adult unless Hitch It has a separate written minor transportation agreement.
Parents and guardians are responsible for providing legally required car seats, booster seats, and child restraints unless Hitch It agrees otherwise in writing.
Hitch It may refuse transportation if a child cannot be safely and legally secured.
21. Service Animals and Pets
Hitch It allows service animals as required by applicable law.
When the need for a service animal is not obvious, Hitch It may ask only legally permitted questions, such as whether the animal is required because of a disability and what work or task the animal has been trained to perform. ADA guidance says businesses generally cannot require documentation, require a demonstration, or ask about the person’s disability.
Pets that are not service animals may be allowed only with advance approval. Hitch It may require pets to be secured in a carrier, seat cover, or designated area.
Riders are responsible for cleaning or damage caused by animals.
22. Luggage and Personal Items
Riders are responsible for their own belongings.
Hitch It is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or forgotten items, including cash, phones, electronics, jewelry, medication, bags, documents, or personal property.
If an item is found, Hitch It may make reasonable efforts to return it. A return fee or delivery fee may apply.
23. Extra Stops and Route Changes
Extra stops must be requested in advance or approved during the ride.
Additional stops, route changes, unexpected wait time, or added mileage may result in additional charges.
Drivers are not required to make unscheduled stops if doing so would delay other rides, create safety concerns, or violate Hitch It policy.
24. Vehicle Surveillance and Recording
For safety, security, quality control, incident review, and dispute resolution, Hitch It vehicles may be equipped with interior and exterior cameras.
By entering a Hitch It vehicle, riders acknowledge that video recording may occur.
Recordings may be used for:

  • Rider safety

  • Driver safety

  • Incident investigation

  • Dispute resolution

  • Insurance claims

  • Theft or damage review

  • Law enforcement requests, when legally required

  • Training and quality control

Hitch It will not sell rider video recordings.
Access to recordings should be limited to authorized Hitch It personnel, insurers, legal representatives, law enforcement when required, or other parties as legally necessary.
Important: Audio recording laws vary by state. Federal law requires at least one party’s consent, but states may impose stricter requirements. Hitch It should confirm local law before enabling audio recording.
Recommended notice:

Optional Arbitration Clause — Attorney Review Recommended
You may choose to add this section after legal review:
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally may be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except where prohibited by law. Riders and Hitch It waive the right to a jury trial and agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a class action.
Do not publish an arbitration clause without local legal review. Courts can be picky about how these are written.
